Celebrity Cruises Launches $250M Modernization Project for Solstice-Class Fleet

Celebrity Cruises has announced a major refurbishment initiative, committing over $250 million to upgrade its Solstice-class fleet. This extensive modernization will kick off with the Celebrity Solstice in March 2026, followed by enhancements to the Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette, and Celebrity Reflection.

The goal of this refurbishment is to improve guest experiences by introducing new venues and renovating existing spaces. Key features of the upgrades include the new Boulevard Lounge, a cabaret-style entertainment venue, along with the Boulevard Bar and Celebrity Barcade, a sports bar complete with games like billiards and darts.

Culinary offerings are set to expand as well, with the introduction of Trattoria Rossa, an Italian restaurant, and the Fine Cut Steakhouse, which previously appeared on Edge-class ships. Outdoor spaces will receive significant enhancements, particularly the development of Sunset Park, a half-acre venue with cocktails, lawn games, open-air concerts, private cabanas, and an expanded Sunset Bar.

All accommodations will also be refreshed. AquaClass staterooms will feature spa-inspired amenities, such as massaging shower heads, aromatherapy diffusers, yoga mats, and a new pillow menu. Four new stateroom categories will be added: Panoramic Infinite Veranda Suite, Deluxe Panoramic Oceanview Suite, Panoramic Ocean View Suite, and Deluxe Panoramic Ocean View.

The Retreat, Celebrity’s premium suite experience, will see improved suites, a new sundeck with outdoor seating and a hot tub, and a redesigned Retreat Lounge. Additional public areas scheduled for refurbishment include Café Al Bacio, Cellar Masters, World Class Bar, Martini Bar, Pool Bar, Passport Bar, Blu (exclusive to AquaClass guests), Luminae (exclusive to The Retreat), the Fitness Center, and Camp at Sea.

The revamped Celebrity Solstice is slated to set sail in March 2026, with itineraries planned for Asia and Australia, followed by summer cruises in Alaska. Notably, in September 2026, the ship will embark on a 110-night Grand Voyage traveling from Canada to Southeast Asia.
