Asuka Cruises Unveils Exciting Lineup with Nearly 50 Voyages on New and Classic Vessels
Asuka Cruises, a subsidiary of NYK Line and Japan’s leading luxury cruise brand, has announced an exciting lineup of nearly 50 voyages planned for late 2025 and early 2026. The schedule reflects the brand’s commitment to combining modern luxury with traditional elegance.
Starting from May, bookings are available for a variety of coastal cruises and regional expeditions that include stops at Pacific islands and Taiwan. The new flagship, Asuka III, which debuted in April following its construction at Germany’s Meyer Werft, will join the seasoned Asuka II for this expansive offering.
Asuka III, measuring 230 meters and serving as Japan’s largest flagged liner at 52,200 GT, is set to embark on its inaugural season in late July. It will operate 53 unique departures between October 2025 and January 2026. Notable itineraries include a 10-night New Year’s journey sailing from Yokohama to Guam and Saipan, along with a 12-night autumn foliage tour around Honshu, stopping at several ports like Miyako, Moji, and Shodoshima.
Departures from Kobe, Osaka, and Nagoya will feature trips ranging from 4 to 12 nights, offering passengers various options for travel duration and departure locations. In tandem, the Asuka II, which has been operational since 1990, is set to return from its final world cruise in July to resume its domestic cruises from several Japanese ports beginning October 5, with 25 journeys available spanning 2 to 10 nights. This schedule includes a celebratory 10-night voyage from Kobe to Taipei, visiting the ports of Keelung and Kaohsiung.
Both vessels will provide themed cruises that will focus on culinary experiences, classical music, seasonal traditions, and cultural displays, aimed at deepening passengers’ appreciation of regional heritage.
Asuka III is particularly distinguished by its design which incorporates open deck spaces enhanced with traditional Japanese art and cultural performances, further enriching the onboard experience. This simultaneous operation of the Asuka III and Asuka II showcases Asuka Cruises’ commitment to delivering a luxurious cruising experience, characterized by a blend of sophistication and timeless elegance, appealing to those who cherish Japanese hospitality and style.
