MSC World Asia to Set Sail on 7-Night Mediterranean Voyages Beginning Winter 2026-2027
MSC Cruises is set to launch its third World-class ship, MSC World Asia, which will commence its inaugural sailings in the Mediterranean on December 11, 2026. Constructed at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, the ship will offer 7-night cruises during the winter of 2026-2027, starting from Barcelona, with stops in Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (Rome), Messina, and Valletta. The itinerary will continue into summer 2027, with Naples added to the route.
This LNG-powered vessel is part of MSC’s ongoing World-class series, which includes MSC World Europa and MSC World America. Notable for its Asian-inspired design and cultural elements, MSC World Asia will feature a Pan-Asian specialty restaurant that serves dishes from various Asian regions and includes a bar and terrace overlooking the upper deck promenade. The ship will also boast a striking 12-storey spiral dry slide known as the Tree of Life, reaching 81.3 meters in height.
MSC plans to further expand its World-class fleet with three additional vessels by 2030, beginning with the launch of MSC World Atlantic in 2027, followed by World 5 and World 6 in 2029 and 2030, respectively. MSC World Asia combines Mediterranean cruising capabilities with rich Asian cultural motifs, enhancing the experience for travelers while showcasing significant maritime innovations.
