Setting Sail: The Inaugural Voyage of ACL’s American Patriot

American Cruise Lines is marking a significant milestone in U.S. coastal cruising with the inaugural voyage of its newest vessel, the American Patriot, set to depart from Boston on June 21, 2025. This new ship measures 243 by 56 feet, was built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding for approximately $40 million, and can accommodate up to 130 guests in 56 cabins.

The American Patriot is designed with five decks and crewed by about 50 staff members. The ship has a displacement of 3,000 GT and operates at speeds up to 18 knots (21 mph). The 2025 sailing season promises an expanded variety of itineraries ranging from 8 to 16 days, focusing on coastal New England and symbolizing the line’s continuous growth within the domestic market.

These Patriot-class vessels feature traditional deep-draft bows tailored for the Eastern Seaboard, offering intimate cruising experiences with private balcony staterooms, multiple lounges—including a panoramic Sky Lounge and Skywalk—fitness centers, elevators, and communal public areas. After the summer trips, the American Patriot is expected to reposition to the Chesapeake Bay in late October, followed by journeys to the Gulf Coast and Florida Keys in November.
