MSC World Asia to Launch 7-Night Mediterranean Cruises for Winter 2026-2027
MSC Cruises is set to introduce the MSC World Asia, its third World-class vessel, which will begin its inaugural voyages in the Mediterranean on December 11, 2026. This LNG-powered ship, built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, is designed to offer 7-night itineraries from Barcelona, with stops at Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Messina, and Valletta during the winter of 2026-2027. In the summer of 2027, the itinerary will slightly change to include Naples.
MSC World Asia is part of MSC’s World-class series, following in the footsteps of MSC World Europa and MSC World America. The design of the ship highlights elements influenced by various Asian cultures, showcasing unique artistic aspects. It features a vertical plumb bow and a Y-shaped aft section that leads to a large outdoor promenade.
In line with its name, MSC World Asia will include several thematic elements that celebrate Asian heritage. A standout feature is a Pan-Asian specialty restaurant, which will offer culinary delights from regions such as Singapore, Thailand, Laos, South China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. This dining venue will include a bar and a terrace with views over the promenade. Additionally, the ship will boast an impressive 12-storey spiral dry slide called the Tree of Life, reaching approximately 81.3 meters above deck.
MSC plans to further expand its World-class series by introducing three more vessels by 2030, with the MSC World Atlantic expected to enter service in 2027, followed by World 5 and World 6 in 2029 and 2030, respectively.
