Aroya’s Historic First Call to Istanbul: A New Era in Communication

Aroya Cruises has made its inaugural call at Galataport Istanbul this week, marking a significant step as it begins its Eastern Mediterranean season. This arrival follows the company’s initial operations in the Red Sea.

Galataport Istanbul has been designated as Aroya’s homeport for the summer, with plans for weekly sailings set every Saturday until mid-September. Turky Kari, the executive director of marketing for Cruise Saudi, highlighted the moment as historic, emphasizing the strategic importance of Istanbul for forging tourism connections between Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The goal is to attract 90,000 passengers to Istanbul this year.

The ship docked in Istanbul on June 20 after a journey along Turkey’s southwestern coast. Before launching its first commercial voyage on June 28, it will undergo routine maintenance.
