Dream Vacations Launches Contest for Veterans to Win a Free Franchise Opportunity

Dream Vacations is inviting military veterans to participate in its 14th annual contest, “Operation Vetrepreneur: Become Your Own General.” The contest, which runs through September 1, 2025, will award three veterans with a free travel agency franchise. This initiative has already given away 64 franchises worth over $787,200 since its inception in 2012.

In an exciting new twist this year, Dream Vacations has partnered with Carnival Cruise Line to include a complimentary cruise for each winner. The prize package will feature an ocean-view stateroom for two on cruises of up to eight days.

Drew Daly, senior vice president and general manager of Dream Vacations, emphasized the company’s commitment to honoring military service through tangible opportunities. He stated, “This partnership strengthens our mission to give back to those who’ve served by helping them launch their own travel businesses and gain the freedom and flexibility they deserve.”

Carnival’s Janet Wygert echoed this sentiment, stating that honoring military personnel is ingrained in the company’s values and is reflected in their ongoing commitment to create lasting traditions of gratitude.

The contest is open to veterans from all six branches of the U.S. military who are retired, off active duty, or honorably discharged before the contest ends, and who reside in the United States. Interested candidates must fill out an online entry form available at Operation Vetrepreneur and undergo an introductory interview with a Franchise Development Manager. Finalists will go through additional interviews before winners are announced in September.

Winners will complete the New Franchisee Training provided by Dream Vacations, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for their new roles as small business owners. Additionally, military veterans and Gold Star families looking to start a work-from-home business can purchase a travel agency franchise at a 30% discount and receive a $5,000 enlistment package, along with waived administrative fees amounting to $1,800.
