Celebrating a Decade at Sea: Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas Marks 10 Years of Service
The Anthem of the Seas has celebrated its tenth anniversary since its delivery to Royal Caribbean International on April 10, 2015. Built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, this 158,000-ton vessel, a sister ship to Quantum of the Seas, was named by actress Emma Wilby at a ceremony in its homeport on April 20, 2015.
During its inaugural season, the Anthem of the Seas offered various itineraries from Southampton, including trips to the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, and Northern Europe. It later made its way to North America, departing from New York Harbor for destinations such as Bermuda, the Caribbean, Canada, and New England.
After spending additional seasons in the UK and New York, the ship was repositioned to the Pacific Ocean and made its debut in Southeast Asia during the 2024-25 winter, cruising from Singapore. In early 2025, the Anthem commenced its summer season in Alaska, with seven-night cruises out of Seattle featuring stops in Canada.
Prior to its West Coast debut, the Anthem underwent routine drydock maintenance in Singapore to update staterooms and public areas. Looking ahead, the ship will transition to the South Pacific, where it is set to embark on its inaugural season in Australia from Sydney, visiting a variety of destinations, including Nouméa, Picton, and Airlie Beach.
