Carnival Vista Embarks on Its Maiden Voyage to Celebration Key

Today, government officials and community leaders from Grand Bahama gathered for an exclusive preview of Celebration Key, the new destination developed by Carnival Cruise Line. This event coincided with the inaugural voyage of Carnival Vista, which is set to officially visit Celebration Key on July 19, marking the destination’s grand opening.

Attendees at the preview were able to explore some of Celebration Key’s major attractions, such as the impressive Suncastle and its racing waterslides, along with the Caribbean’s largest freshwater lagoons. Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed excitement about the new destination, emphasizing its significance as a milestone for Grand Bahama, being the first major project completed on the island in more than 20 years.

Duffy highlighted the collaborative effort between Carnival and the local community in bringing Celebration Key to life, commending the hundreds of Bahamians who contributed to its development. She also noted that the destination is expected to create numerous long-term jobs and enhance the local economy while celebrating Bahamian culture.

In anticipation of the grand opening, Duffy welcomed guests aboard Carnival Vista at Port Canaveral and made a special announcement regarding their upcoming visit to Celebration Key. The ceremonial opening will be streamed live on Carnival Cruise Line’s Facebook page on July 19 at 10 a.m. ET.
