Organizers of the esteemed heavy metal-themed cruise festival, 70000 Tons of Metal, have officially modified their plans for the 2026 voyage. Initially set to depart from Miami and head to Labadee, Haiti, the cruise will now change its destination to Nassau, Bahamas. The event will be held aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas from January 29 to February 2, 2026.

This adjustment arises from ongoing instability in Haiti, leading festival skipper Andy Piller to prioritize the safety and comfort of the nearly 3,000 participants, referred to as "Survivors." By opting for Nassau, the festival ensures reliable docking conditions and a welcoming environment for its renowned four-day program.

The essence of the festival remains unchanged, featuring four jam-packed days of heavy metal performances across 60 bands on multiple stages, including the iconic open-air pool deck. The first wave of 27 bands has been announced, spotlighting prominent acts such as Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity, Eluveitie, Insomnium, and Kamelot.
