Oceania Cruises Welcomes the Arrival of Oceania Allura: A New Era of Luxury at Sea
Oceania Cruises has officially taken delivery of the Oceania Allura, the eighth addition to its boutique cruise fleet, from Fincantieri’s shipyard in Genoa. This vessel, accommodating 1,200 guests, is the second in the Allura Class, further enhancing the company’s reputation for exquisite dining and immersive global sailing experiences.
Following the launch of its sister ship, Oceania Vista, in May 2023, the Allura continues Oceania’s culinary legacy. Under the direction of Chief Luxury Officer Jason Montague, it embodies a new wave of intimate, destination-oriented cruising.
A hallmark of this ship is the introduction of the Crêperie, making it a first for Oceania Cruises. Guests can also indulge in the revamped Jacques restaurant, featuring updated French classics and unique experiences like tableside-prepared beef tartare. Additionally, the pan-Asian restaurant Red Ginger will now offer a Nikkei menu that fuses Japanese and Peruvian flavors.
The Grand Dining Room boasts over 270 new recipes from Executive Culinary Directors Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale, including an expanded breakfast menu that introduces new spins on eggs Benedict. A new Gerard Bertrand Wine Pairing Luncheon will showcase French wines paired with carefully curated dishes.
On the delivery day, Fincantieri announced plans for two new Sonata Class vessels, Oceania Sonata and Oceania Arietta, to join the fleet in 2027 and 2029, with additional sister ships set for 2032 and 2035. These larger 1,390-passenger ships will continue to develop the legacy of the Allura Class through collaboration between Oceania and Fincantieri.
Oceania Allura, measuring 246 meters and approximately 68,000 GT, features one of the cruise industry’s highest staff-to-guest ratios, with two crew members for every three guests, and one chef for every eight guests.
The ship’s inaugural journey begins on July 18, 2025, departing from Trieste to Piraeus-Athens as part of a 26-voyage season covering the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Canada, and New England. A formal christening ceremony, led by a group of alumni from Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs,” is scheduled for November in Miami.
This milestone marks a new era in small-ship luxury, underscoring Oceania Cruises’ commitment to culinary excellence, personalized service, and immersive travel experiences while evolving its fleet with larger vessels on the horizon.
