National Geographic–Lindblad Expeditions Welcomes Delfina and Gemini to the Galápagos Fleet

In a significant event for the Galápagos archipelago, National Geographic–Lindblad Expeditions introduced its newest expedition ships, the National Geographic Delfina and the National Geographic Gemini, during a ceremonial naming on July 10th in Santa Cruz Island’s Academy Bay. The ceremony was marked by community involvement, with local dignitaries, residents, and crew members participating in the traditional bottle-breaking at sea, symbolizing the company’s deep commitment to the region and conservation efforts.

Lindblad’s CEO, Natalya Leahy, highlighted that this event reflects the company’s dedication to the Galápagos people and environment, emphasizing a nearly 60-year history of partnership and support for numerous environmental and social initiatives.

The National Geographic Delfina is a 98-ft luxury catamaran designed for intimate voyages, accommodating 16 guests in 8 staterooms, including balconies. It features an open-air Observation Deck, alfresco dining, and equipment for exploration such as Zodiacs and snorkeling gear.

In contrast, the National Geographic Gemini is an expedition ship for 48 passengers, offering 28 outside cabins, including suites with private balconies. Its amenities include a spa, fitness center, whirlpool hot tub, and outdoor café, alongside exploration equipment.
