Carnival Liberty Sets Sail from New Orleans After Drydock Refurbishment: What to Expect!
Carnival Liberty has officially resumed its voyages from New Orleans following an extensive drydock refurbishment that has introduced a myriad of updates and enhancements. The ship is now set to join its sibling, Carnival Valor, which underwent similar upgrades, embarking on week-long Caribbean cruises starting mid-July.
Significant updates to Carnival Liberty include the addition of the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, honoring U.S. military personnel and their families, and an expanded WaterWorks aqua park that features new waterslides along with a mini-golf course. The spa has been totally revitalized into the Cloud9 Spa, boasting new decor, upgraded beauty stations, and enhanced wellness facilities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center and new steam rooms and saunas.
Further enhancements include a redesigned casino, upgraded youth areas like Camp Ocean and Club O2, a new Dream Studio for photography sessions, and a centralized Carnival Adventures desk for excursion bookings. The vessel also showcases refreshed retail spaces with the addition of a new High Spirits liquor store.
Accessibility improvements were a key aspect of the refurbishment, featuring wider pathways and enhanced amenities that extend throughout public areas and select cabins.
With its return, Carnival Liberty will operate regular 7-night roundtrip itineraries from Port NOLA, sailing to the Western Caribbean and Bahamas, including an inaugural visit to Carnival’s private destination, Celebration Key, on July 23rd.
