On July 9, 2025, the MS Genting Dream served as a crucial participant during a large-scale maritime emergency response drill, known as Passenger Ship Exercise 2025, in Phuket, Thailand. Coordinated by the Thai-MECC Region 3, this exercise involved multiple organizations including the Royal Thai Navy and local health services, aiming to enhance the nation’s preparedness for maritime emergencies in line with SOLAS regulations.

The exercise focused on simulating various emergency scenarios, including lifeboat evacuations, rescue operations, and responses to onboard fires. Notably, firefighting teams from the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization and the Navy vessel HTMS Panyi collaborated with the ship’s crew to effectively tackle fire suppression protocols.

The drill commenced under the direction of Admiral Phairoj Fuangchanchai, Director-General of Thai-MECC, with Rear Admiral Benjamaporn Wongnakornsawang managing the shipboard activities. High-ranking officials, such as Vice Admiral Suwat Donsakul, were also present, highlighting the commitment to maritime safety.
