Carnival Liberty Sets Sail from New Orleans After Exciting Drydock Refurbishment

CCL’s ship Carnival Liberty has officially launched from New Orleans after undergoing an extensive drydock refurbishment. This revitalization introduced a variety of enhancements aimed at improving guest experience.

Joining its sister ship Carnival Valor, which recently returned with similar upgrades, Carnival Liberty will embark on week-long Caribbean voyages starting in mid-July.

The refurbishment included the addition of a Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, dedicated to honoring U.S. military personnel and their families, and an expanded WaterWorks aqua park with new waterslides and a mini-golf course. The spa has also been upgraded to the new Cloud9 Spa, featuring refreshed décor, new beauty stations, an Elemis Boutique, and improved fitness and relaxation facilities.

Other notable improvements include a redesigned casino offering more gaming options, modernized youth areas at Camp Ocean, Club O2, and the arcade. A Dream Studio was added for photo sessions, alongside a centralized Carnival Adventures desk for excursions. Retail spaces have been refreshed, featuring a new High Spirits liquor store.

Enhancements focused on accessibility are evident, including wider pathways and improved amenities in public areas and select cabins.

Carnival Liberty is set to resume its regular 7-night roundtrip itineraries from Port NOLA, with its first voyage to CCL-Carnival’s private destination Celebration Key scheduled for July 23rd.
