Celebration Key: Welcoming Grand Bahama in Anticipation of Carnival Vista’s Arrival

On July 12, Grand Bahama welcomed local leaders and residents aboard the Carnival Vista for a preview of the much-anticipated Celebration Key, a private destination developed by Carnival Cruise Line. This event marked an exciting lead-up to the official opening of the 64-acre resort scheduled for July 19.

During the preview, attendees explored the island’s five themed zones, including the adult-only Pearl Cove Beach Club and the family-friendly Starfish Lagoon. Highlights included spectacular attractions like the Suncastle waterslides and the Caribbean’s largest freshwater lagoons. Furthermore, Celebration Key will feature over 30 food and beverage establishments, alongside a retail village that spotlights local artisans.

Carnival President Christine Duffy hailed this development as a significant milestone for Grand Bahama, noting it as the island’s first major project in over twenty years. She emphasized that Celebration Key aims to generate hundreds of long-term jobs and fortify Carnival’s partnership with the local community.

The Carnival Vista will be the inaugural ship to visit Celebration Key on July 19, with a livestreamed inauguration ceremony planned on Carnival’s Facebook page at 10:00 a.m. ET. Plans are also underway for a pier expansion in 2026, which will accommodate up to ten ships simultaneously from various U.S. embarkation points. In its first year, Celebration Key is projected to attract around two million visitors via twenty Carnival vessels, significantly boosting the local economy.
