MS Dream Relaunches Cruises After Successful Drydock Refurbishment by Tianjin Orient

The MS Dream, a 77,000-ton cruise ship operated by Tianjin Orient International Cruise Line, has resumed service after an extensive 11-day drydock refurbishment at the Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry yard. The ship’s drydocking, which began at the end of June, involved critical repairs and upgrades essential for its ongoing operations.

Key services during the refurbishment included repainting the hull, addressing rusted components, overhauling engines, and fine-tuning oil pump systems for optimal performance. In addition to these technical enhancements, the Dream also received aesthetic updates with a new livery adorned with stylized wave motifs and vibrant mast colors, enhancing the vessel’s overall appearance.

Public spaces and staterooms were also upgraded, elevating the comfort and experience for passengers. Following the completion of the enhancements in early July, the MS Dream resumed its typical cruise itinerary from Tianjin, visiting popular destinations in Japan and South Korea, including Sasebo, Nagasaki, Fukuoka, and Jeju.

Originally constructed in 1998 in Italy by Fincantieri as Sea Princess, the ship served Princess Cruises until 2020. After a brief period as MS Charming, it was acquired by Tianjin Orient in 2023. Following an earlier three-month drydock for refurbishments, the vessel re-entered service under its current name.
