Set Sail for Flavor: Durian Cruises Return Aboard the Genting Dream Ship!

Dream Cruises has reintroduced its highly anticipated “Durian Party” aboard the Genting Dream ship with four special 2-night sailings planned between Singapore and Melaka, Malaysia, on August 24, August 31, September 7, and September 14, 2025.

This unique cruise experience combines sea travel with the chance to indulge in one of Southeast Asia’s cherished fruits. Guests will have the opportunity to disembark in Melaka for an extravagant “Eat-All-You-Can Premium Durian Buffet,” featuring an array of Malaysia’s finest durian varieties, including Musang King, Black Thorn, Tan Sri XO, and Red Prawn. For those who prefer other tropical flavors, a selection of fresh tropical fruits will be available as well. The buffet lasts around 90 minutes, followed by a visit to Jonker Street, Melaka’s famous cultural and culinary area. The experience is priced at SG$45 per person and can be booked in advance or on board, subject to limited availability.

Michael Goh, President of StarDream Cruises, noted that the revival of the Durian Party marks a revitalized homage to the beloved fruit, enhancing the guest experience and blending Malaysia’s rich culinary traditions with family-friendly activities.

Highlighting the durian-themed experience, renowned Malaysian durian expert Edison Ang will make special appearances at the buffet on selected dates. Edison, who is popular on social media for his insights and entertaining content about durians, will provide guests with knowledge on how to select and appreciate the different varieties, enriching their understanding of durian culture.

In addition to the Melaka port experience, the cruise will offer onboard activities, including durian-themed quizzes and games aimed at both fun and education, and hands-on workshops for creating durian-inspired arts and crafts suitable for all ages.
