Aroya’s Memorable Maiden Voyage to Rhodes: A Celebration of Culture and Adventure

Aroya Cruises marked a significant milestone with its maiden visit to the Greek island of Rhodes, highlighted by a plaque exchange ceremony held onboard the ship. The event featured Captain Jan Gelinder and Aroya Cruises’ Executive Director of Marketing, Turky Kari, alongside local dignitaries, including Rhodes’ Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Georgios Pattas, and Harbor Master, Kiposoglou Maria.

The Aroya arrived in Rhodes on July 15, 2025, as part of its inaugural season in the Mediterranean. The visit was included in a weeklong cruise itinerary, which also encompassed other popular destinations in Greece and Turkey, such as Bodrum, Mykonos, and Piraeus.

The ship is scheduled to continue its European voyage, offering a series of weeklong cruises departing from the Galataport Istanbul Cruise Port. Upcoming itineraries will feature various ports of call throughout Greece, Turkey, and Egypt, including noteworthy stops at Souda Bay, Marmaris, Kas, and Alexandria.

Following its successful debut, the Aroya is set to return to Rhodes four times over the next two months. The Mediterranean season will conclude in mid-September, after which the ship will reposition to the Red Sea, initiating itineraries from Jeddah. On its return journey to Saudi Arabia, the ship will offer an eight-night cruise that includes a transit through the Suez Canal along with visits to Turkish and Egyptian locales.

Originally launched as World Dream for Dream Cruises, the Aroya was acquired by Cruise Saudi in late 2023 during an auction. After undergoing a substantial refurbishment, the 3,400-passenger capacity ship entered service for Aroya Cruises in late 2024, offering short cruises from Jeddah to various destinations in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt until June 2025.
