Orient Express Corinthian: Set to Make Caribbean Debut in Fall 2026

Accor Cruises has announced the launch of its first superyacht, the Orient Express Corinthian, set to begin operations in the Caribbean in Fall 2026. The ship will set sail from Lisbon, Portugal, on October 12th for a 14-night relocation voyage to Bridgetown, Barbados, and will then embark on a series of itineraries that last between 2 to 9 nights through March 2027. Key destinations include Saint-Barthélemy, Moskito Island, the Exumas, and the Tobago Cays.

Measuring 220 meters in length and boasting an air draft exceeding 100 meters, the Corinthian will be the world’s largest sailing yacht upon delivery. It features 54 suites, each offering panoramic windows or private terraces, capable of accommodating up to 110 guests with a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1. The design, directed by Artistic Director Maxime d’Angeac, aims to evoke the glory of classic travel.

The yacht will utilize a SolidSail propulsion system, which incorporates three rigid sails with a combined surface area of around 1,500 m², supported by tilting masts. This innovative approach allows for nearly complete wind-powered navigation at speeds of around 17 knots under favorable conditions. Additionally, a hybrid engine that runs on liquefied natural gas will assist the sails as necessary.

The interior design is inspired by the elegance of historic ocean liners such as the SS Normandie, featuring luxury crafted by French artisans. Onboard amenities will include five restaurants, a 115-seat cabaret, two pools, a marina, a recording studio, and wellness facilities. The culinary experience will be overseen by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, known for his work with Orient Express train dining.

The Corinthian marks a significant step for Orient Express as it transitions from legendary rail travel to luxury maritime experiences. The yacht’s inaugural Caribbean season, lasting from October 2026 to March 2027, promises to explore lesser-known ports and unspoiled reefs, catering to both short getaways and more immersive wellness-focused travels.

Following the Corinthian, Orient Express plans to introduce a sister ship named the Olympian in 2027, with the success of their Caribbean season anticipated to play a crucial role in the future of luxury cruise travel, emphasizing heritage, sustainability, and immersive experiences.
