Tragic Incident: Crew Member Dies After Jumping Overboard from Icon OTS Near the Bahamas

On the evening of July 24, a tragic incident occurred aboard the Icon of the Seas while it was approximately 200 miles east of Nassau in the eastern Caribbean. At around 7:00 p.m., the ship’s emergency alarm, signaling a man overboard, echoed throughout the vessel. Crew members swiftly halted the ship, executed a U-turn, and deployed rescue crafts to the last known location of the individual.

Life rings were thrown into the water as passengers anxiously observed the unfolding situation from various observation points. Within thirty minutes, the individual was retrieved from the sea, but, unfortunately, all efforts to revive him were futile, and he was pronounced dead on board.
