Orient Express Corinthian: Set to Make Its Caribbean Debut in Fall 2026
Accor Cruises’ brand, Orient Express, is preparing to launch its first superyacht, the Orient Express Corinthian, which is set to commence its inaugural season in the Caribbean in the fall of 2026. The vessel will embark on its maiden voyage from Lisbon, Portugal, on October 12, 2026, for a 14-night Transatlantic crossing to Bridgetown, Barbados. Following this, it will offer a series of itineraries ranging from two to nine nights until March 2027, with stops at stunning destinations, including Saint-Barthélemy, Moskito Island, the Exumas, and the Tobago Cays.
The Corinthian, measuring 220 meters in length and featuring an impressive air draft of over 100 meters, will become the world’s largest sailing yacht upon delivery. It will offer 54 luxurious suites, which will range in size from approximately 485 to 2,476 square feet, each equipped with panoramic windows or private terraces. With a maximum capacity of 110 guests, the yacht will uphold a prestigious 1:1 guest-to-crew ratio, delivering a refined experience reminiscent of travel’s golden age, as helmed by Artistic Director Maxime d’Angeac.
The superyacht will utilize the innovative SolidSail propulsion system from Chantiers de l’Atlantique, which incorporates three rigid sails with a combined area of about 1,500 square meters mounted on tilting masts. This cutting-edge technology enables sailing at speeds up to 17 knots, primarily relying on wind power, supplemented by a hybrid engine using liquefied natural gas when necessary.
The interior design of the yacht aims to evoke timeless elegance and is inspired by classic ocean liners like the SS Normandie. Sophisticated spaces, designed by French artisans, will include five restaurants, a 115-seat cabaret, two pools, a marina, a recording studio, wellness facilities, and more, all curated under the culinary leadership of Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno.
This venture marks a significant shift for the Orient Express brand, evolving from its renowned rail heritage to the maritime sector. The Corinthian’s inaugural Caribbean season, spanning from October 2026 through March 2027, promises to explore hidden gems and cultural locales of the region. The itineraries will provide guests with options ranging from short escapes to wellness-focused voyages in less-visited areas.
Additionally, there are plans for a sister vessel, the Olympian, to be launched in 2027. The success of Corinthian’s Caribbean season will represent a pivotal moment in the luxury maritime travel industry by harmonizing heritage, sustainability, and immersive design.
