Orient Express Corinthian Set to Make Caribbean Debut in Fall 2026

Accor Cruises has announced the upcoming launch of its luxury superyacht, the Orient Express Corinthian, which is set to make its Caribbean debut in autumn 2026. This highly anticipated vessel will embark on its inaugural journey from Lisbon, Portugal, on October 12 for a 14-night Transatlantic crossing, arriving in Bridgetown, Barbados. Following its relocation, Corinthian will operate a series of 2- to 9-night itineraries that will explore stunning destinations such as Saint-Barthélemy, Moskito Island, the Exumas, and the Tobago Cays until March 2027.

Spanning 220 meters in length with an impressive air draft exceeding 100 meters, the Corinthian is expected to be the largest sailing yacht globally upon its delivery. It will feature 54 opulent suites, ranging from approximately 485 ft² to nearly 2,476 ft², each equipped with panoramic windows or private terraces. With a maximum capacity of 110 guests and a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1, the yacht promises an unparalleled level of service, echoing the grandeur of vintage travel eras—this concept is led by Artistic Director Maxime d’Angeac.

Equipped with the innovative SolidSail propulsion system, designed by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the yacht will be capable of harnessing wind energy using three rigid sails covering a total area of about 1,500 m², allowing for up to 100% wind-powered navigation at speeds around 17 knots. A hybrid engine powered by liquefied natural gas will provide additional support when necessary.

The Corinthian’s interiors are inspired by the classic aesthetics of ocean liners like the SS Normandie, showcasing craftsmanship from French artisans. Onboard facilities will include five restaurants, a cabaret seating 115 guests, two pools, a marina, a recording studio, and wellness spaces. Culinary experiences will be curated under the expertise of Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, known for his work with Orient Express dining experiences.

This venture marks a significant transition for Orient Express as it expands from its iconic railway services to luxurious maritime travel. The inaugural Caribbean sailing season of the Corinthian will highlight secluded harbors, pristine reefs, and culturally rich ports, offering a range of expeditions from quick getaway cruises to immersive wellness retreats.

Looking ahead, plans for a sister ship, the Olympian, are set for a 2027 launch. The success of the Corinthian’s Caribbean engagements is poised to be a landmark achievement in luxury maritime tourism, seamlessly blending heritage, sustainability, and exquisite design at sea.
