Federal authorities are currently investigating an incident aboard the Carnival Dream, which occurred while the ship was on its journey, reportedly on July 23, 2025. The FBI’s Houston division is leading the investigation, in conjunction with local agencies such as the US Coast Guard and US Customs and Border Protection, along with representatives from Carnival Cruise Line.

Upon its return to Galveston on Saturday, passengers experienced delays in disembarkation as law enforcement boarded the ship. The Carnival Dream proceeded to its next port of call, Key West, Florida, the following day.

This incident comes shortly after CCL announced plans to homeport Carnival Dream in New Orleans in 2027. The federal investigation’s outcome is still pending, and further updates are anticipated as inquiries proceed.
