The FBI’s Houston division has confirmed its involvement, working alongside the US Coast Guard, US Customs and Border Protection, and representatives of Carnival Cruise Line.

The nature of the incident has not been disclosed, as the investigation remains active. Reports from local media suggested that a death may have occurred aboard the ship, leading to a death investigation. However, the FBI has not confirmed any fatalities.

In response to the speculation, Carnival Cruise Line released a statement clarifying that claims surrounding a suspicious death are unfounded and emphasized that no such investigation is active.

Upon returning to Galveston on Saturday, a significant delay in disembarkation was noted, as law enforcement officials boarded the ship. The following day, Carnival Dream continued its itinerary, heading to Key West, Florida.
