NCL’s Pride of America Suspends Sailing Due to Medical Emergency

The Pride of America, a vessel operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, experienced a medical emergency shortly after departing Honolulu Harbor on Saturday evening. The ship had just cleared the pier around 7:00 p.m. when it was compelled to reverse course. Within an hour, around 8:00 p.m., it returned to port to address the situation.

Officials from Aloha Tower stated that the deviation was due to a medical incident on board, although no further details were provided. Once the situation was handled according to onboard procedures, the Pride of America resumed its planned 7-night cruise itinerary, which includes stops at Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.

Royal Caribbean Group, the vessel’s parent company, has assured all affected passengers were informed about the incident prior to disembarking. The Pride of America continues its intra-island Hawaii itinerary under comprehensive health and safety guidelines, without any reported disruptions following the earlier medical emergency.
