Royal Caribbean Suspends Labadee Port Calls Until October Amid Security Concerns

Royal Caribbean has announced the suspension of all scheduled port calls at its private beach destination, Labadee in Haiti, until the end of October 2025. This decision comes amid rising civil unrest and organized violence in Haiti, leading the U.S. Department of State to issue a Level 4 travel advisory, which advises against travel to the region due to widespread firearm-related crimes, including kidnapping and armed robbery. The situation has been exacerbated by a national state of emergency declared in 2024 in response to gang activity.

As a result of this decision, over 20 Caribbean cruises on five Royal Caribbean ships—including Adventure of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Icon of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, and Radiance of the Seas—will be adjusting their itineraries to remove Labadee. Some voyages will instead include additional sea days or visit alternate ports like Nassau and Costa Maya to maintain the overall length of the trips and enhance the guest experience.
