Royal Caribbean’s Star OTS Makes Historic First Call at Port Canaveral, FL

Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, the Star of the Seas, recently made its inaugural visit to Port Canaveral, Florida. This impressive 248,663-ton ICON Class liner arrived under the watchful eye of a tugboat, which celebrated the occasion with water cannon displays. The ship docked at the newly upgraded Cruise Terminal 1 after navigating past Jetty Park.

The Star of the Seas is set to embark on preview voyages before launching regular seven-day itineraries to the eastern and western Caribbean by the end of the month. Entertainer Diana Ross will headline the ship’s naming ceremony. Passengers can look forward to a wide array of amenities, including 40 bars, restaurants, lounges, and varied family-friendly attractions like the largest water park at sea, an ice rink, laser tag, an escape room, and expansive play zones for children. Additionally, the ship offers over 2,800 staterooms, including suites that can accommodate up to nine guests.

To celebrate the ship’s departure on August 16, the port authority is hosting a free public event called the "Star"-Studded Sailabration at Jetty Park starting at 3:30 PM, featuring food, music, and themed giveaways. Guests are encouraged to secure parking passes ahead of time.
