Virgin Voyages Shakes Up Plans: Scarlet Lady Cruise Canceled

Virgin Voyages has canceled a cruise on the Scarlet Lady, which was set to depart from Miami on April 19, 2026. The cancellation is due to the ship being privately chartered.

In a statement addressed to booked guests, the cruise line expressed regret for the disruption, stating, “It looks like your Scarlet Lady sailing on April 19, 2026, has been privately chartered. We’re truly sorry for the impact this has on your plans, and we’re here to make it right.”

Initially, the Scarlet Lady was scheduled to embark on a seven-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, leaving from Virgin’s Terminal V in Miami. The planned itinerary included stops in Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), San Juan (Puerto Rico), and Tortola (British Virgin Islands).

Affected passengers are being offered two alternatives. They can rebook for the Resilient Lady’s April 18, 2026, cruise on the “San Juan & Dominican Dreams” itinerary, which also lasts seven nights and includes visits to Puerto Plata and San Juan, along with Bimini in the Bahamas. Guests who opt for this rebooking will retain the same cabin category, and their originally paid fares will be honored.

Should the new voyage be less expensive than the original, Virgin Voyages will refund the price difference. All promotions from the original booking, such as Bar Tab bonuses, will carry over to the new voyage, and select cabin categories will receive an additional onboard credit as thanks for their continued support.

Passengers can also choose to switch their bookings to other seven-night Caribbean cruises or cancel for a full refund or a 100% Future Voyage Credit.
