Disney Cruise Line Delays Disney Adventure Debut Due to Shipbuilding Setback

Disney Cruise Line has announced a delay in the maiden voyage of the MS Disney Adventure, which was initially set for December 15, 2025. The new date for the voyage is now scheduled for March 10, 2026, due to unexpected setbacks in the shipbuilding process.

The Disney Adventure, a large vessel currently under construction in Wismar, Germany, at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg shipyard, will be affected by this adjustment, which impacts all sailings up to and including March 12, 2026. Guests who had booked the maiden voyage will automatically have their reservations moved to the new date, along with a 50% reduction in fare. Those unable to participate in the rescheduled sailing can request a full refund while still retaining the 50% discount for a future cruise.

For other sailings between December 2025 and March 2026 that have been cancelled, passengers will receive automatic refunds and a 50% future cruise credit. Travel agents have been advised that future-cruise discounts must be applied to bookings made by March 31, 2026, for sailings on or before March 31, 2027. Disney Cruise Line will reflect the discounted rates on guest accounts by October 8, 2025, with necessary adjustments and updates provided within 72 hours.

The Disney Adventure, which was acquired in 2022 and significantly redesigned from a partially constructed hull, is undergoing trials and finishing work. The delay intends to ensure that the ship meets the high standards expected by Disney Cruise Line, particularly in terms of interior outfitting and overall systems.
