Westerdam Embarks on Holland America’s Scenic ‘Glaciers & Volcanoes’ Cruise

The Westerdam has embarked on Holland America Line’s unique "Glaciers & Volcanoes" cruise, departing from Vancouver. This 27-night itinerary takes guests through stunning destinations in Hawaii, Alaska, and beyond, showcasing the beauty of nature and various cultural experiences.

The voyage, part of the Legendary Voyages program, includes visits to traditional cruise ports as well as lesser-known destinations, culminating in Seattle in late September. After departing Vancouver, the Westerdam’s journey includes stops in Anchorage and Valdez, accompanied by the breathtaking sights of Hubbard Glacier.

Travelers can anticipate unique experiences in Dutch Harbor and Kodiak before heading south to Hawaii. This segment of the cruise includes six days at sea, followed by visits to islands such as Nawiliwili, Kailua-Kona, and Hilo. Guests can also enjoy an overnight stay in Honolulu before the ship returns to the West Coast.

After the Glaciers & Volcanoes itinerary, the Westerdam is set to reposition to Asia for the winter season, where it will offer journeys to Japan, the Far East, and Southeast Asia. Holland America’s Legendary Voyages are designed to immerse guests in the destinations they visit, featuring longer itineraries that allow for in-depth exploration, alongside curated shipboard programs focusing on local history and culture.

For 2026, Holland America plans to offer a new edition of this cruise, with a similar itinerary scheduled for September 6 on the Noordam.
