CCL-Carnival Elevates Loyalty Rewards for Elite Guests in Anticipation of New Program Launch

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line has revealed updates to its forthcoming Carnival Rewards™ loyalty program aimed specifically at guests with Diamond and Platinum status in the existing VIFP Club. These enhancements are designed to recognize long-standing loyalty while ensuring a seamless transition when the new program launches on June 1, 2026.

Guests achieving Diamond status before May 31, 2026, will not only keep their status until May 31, 2032, but now also earn lifetime Diamond status in the new program. For those with Platinum status by the same date, their status will be extended until May 31, 2028. Additionally, they will receive a bi-annual bonus of 10,000 status-qualifying stars at the launch of Carnival Rewards and every two years thereafter. This bonus essentially gives Platinum members about a 20% head start towards maintaining or upgrading their status.

Children under 18 will not be individually enrolled in the program due to U.S. privacy regulations but will inherit the status of the adult responsible for their booking. Upon turning 18, those who have achieved Diamond or Platinum status by May 31, 2026, can opt into the new rewards program with their earned privileges.

Carnival is also assessing ways to extend similar benefits to Canadian and Australian guests, aiming to align with those offered to U.S. residents, including through a planned Carnival Rewards credit card.

These adjustments to the loyalty program have been shaped largely by guest feedback collected over the summer. The aim is to align Carnival Rewards more closely with models utilized in airline and hotel loyalty programs, linking status and perks to both spending and loyalty metrics.
