Experience the Celestial Wonders: RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Unveils “Solar Eclipse Voyage Collection

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled its "Solar Eclipse Voyage Collection," a unique series of five sailing experiences in 2026 and 2027 that coincide with solar eclipses. These voyages will take place in the Mediterranean and Northern European regions aboard several luxurious vessels, including the Seven Seas Grandeur, Seven Seas Mariner, Seven Seas Navigator, and Seven Seas Voyager.

Four of the journeys are set for August 12, 2026, allowing passengers to witness a partial eclipse, with visibility expected to be between 80% to 93%. The fifth voyage, on August 2, 2027, promises to deliver a stunning total eclipse over the Mediterranean. Each sailing will feature onboard educational programs focusing on astronomy, physics, and space science, with eclipse viewings from open decks. Guests can also look forward to themed cocktails, solar glasses, and specially crafted desserts.

Notable itineraries include an 18-night voyage on the Seven Seas Mariner departing from Southampton for Copenhagen on July 31, 2026, where eclipse visibility from Helsinki is projected to be around 79.6%. Another highlighted trip features a 14-night cruise on the Seven Seas Grandeur from Reykjavik to Oslo on August 1, 2026, offering viewing opportunities from Eidfjord with expected visibility of 84.3%. Additionally, the Seven Seas Navigator’s sailing from Le Havre to Barcelona on August 12 promises a 12-night journey with eclipse visibility nearing 92.75%. The Seven Seas Voyager will also embark from Southampton to Reykjavik during the same timeframe, with a visibility of about 92.53%.

In 2027, the Seven Seas Grandeur will conduct a 9-night voyage from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome) starting July 29, where travelers can catch a total eclipse at sea.

Each sailing will also host distinguished guest speakers; for instance, Dr. Gary Kramer will be aboard the Seven Seas Mariner during the Scandinavian Serenade, while Lt. Col. Ken Verderame will share insights on the Seven Seas Grandeur cruise, and Dr. Ralph P. Pass will join the Seven Seas Navigator for the Iberian Indulgence. The Seven Seas Voyager will feature former NASA Chief Engineer Frank Buzzard.
