ACL-American Cruise Line Expands Mississippi Program with Exciting New River Itineraries

ACL-American Cruise Line is expanding its Mississippi River operations with the introduction of three new itineraries, which includes the company’s inaugural voyage on the Arkansas River. This expansion elevates the total number of Mississippi River itineraries to 14, not counting holiday and themed cruises.

The first new route is an exciting 9-day journey on the Arkansas River, set to commence in November 2026. This itinerary will travel between Memphis, TN, and Tulsa, OK, with stops in Catoosa (where passengers will embark and disembark, paired with an overnight stay in Tulsa), and Muskogee, alongside several Arkansas destinations such as Fort Smith/Van Buren, Russellville, Little Rock, and Pendleton. This voyage promises insightful cultural and historical excursions, including visits to the Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan Centers, Native American heritage sites in Muskogee, and a ride on the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad.

Next, an 11-day "Great Smoky Mountains" itinerary is planned, which will navigate the scenic Tennessee River from Knoxville, TN, to Huntsville, AL. Scheduled for July through October 2027, this cruise includes visits to sites like Pigeon Forge, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg, Fort Southwest Point, Chattanooga, and Decatur. Highlights comprise spending two days in the national park, and attractions related to regional music and the Manhattan Project.

Lastly, American Cruise Lines will launch an 8-day Gulf Coast voyage connecting New Orleans and Pensacola, to take place in March and December during both 2026 and 2027. This route will encompass segments of the Mississippi River and coastal Intracoastal Waterway, with activities designed for ecological exploration and cultural appreciation, featuring stops at Mobile, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, and Gulfport.

This expansion reflects American Cruise Line’s commitment to broadening its domestic cruise offerings across various U.S. rivers and coastal waters, as well as investments in infrastructure, including new docking facilities along the Columbia, Snake, and Mississippi rivers.
