Virgin Voyages Unveils New Tiered Fare Structure for Enhanced Cruising Experiences

Virgin Voyages has unveiled a new fare structure called VoyageFair Choices, set to launch on October 7, 2025. This updated pricing model aims to enhance transparency, flexibility, and comparability, while maintaining the brand’s signature “Always Included Luxury” offerings.

Developed based on feedback from travelers and travel agents, this fare system intends to align cruise bookings more closely with the clear pricing models prevalent in the airline and hotel industries. Virgin Voyages’ executives emphasized that this change is not merely a promotional tactic but a lasting restructuring of their fare presentation to offer more options and clearer distinctions between service levels.

The new model will feature three fare tiers for Sea Terrace staterooms and similar categories:

• Base Fare: This entry-level option includes a non-refundable policy, basic WiFi for one device, and allows dining reservations only 15 days prior to sail date.
• Essential Fare: This level keeps current standards, offering broader WiFi access, a 45-day dining reservation window, and flexibility with future voyage credits and limited name change options.
• Premium Fare: This tier expands on the benefits with a 60-day reservation window for dining, enhanced WiFi capable of streaming, a drinks credit, and priority support before sailing.

For guests in RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters, the primary adjustment is a 120-day dining reservation period. All existing perks, like priority boarding and exclusive venues, will remain intact.

Virgin Voyages is also changing how gratuities are presented. Rather than being bundled into the fare, they will be listed separately at booking, set at $20 per passenger per night if paid in advance, or $22 on board. The overall voyage cost stays the same, and once gratuities are settled, no additional tipping will be expected.

The cruise line insists that core inclusions worth over $1,000 per passenger—covering various dining options, group fitness, WiFi, and beverages—will continue to be part of every fare. This revised pricing system is designed to help travelers balance costs, benefits, and flexibility in a way that best fits their needs, all while upholding Virgin Voyages’ established service standards.
