HX Expeditions Marks Milestone with First North American Ship Visit in Seattle

HX Expeditions recently held its inaugural North American ship visit in Seattle aboard the hybrid-powered Fridtjof Nansen on September 26, 2025. The event welcomed over 200 travel advisors and partners, showcasing the company’s commitment to blending adventure, comfort, and sustainability in its travel offerings.

This visit was significant as it marked both HX’s first travel advisor event in Seattle and its first ship visit in North America. The attendees experienced a full-day program with immersive sessions, where they learned about the unique ways guests can explore remote destinations through kayaking, hiking, and small boat excursions. Additionally, onboard scientists discussed how guests contribute to global Citizen Science initiatives, making over 30,000 observations annually.

Steve Smotrys, MD and SVP commercial for the Americas, emphasized the vital role travel advisors play in the company’s growth, particularly noting a year-over-year revenue increase exceeding 50% in the U.S. leading into 2026, which also marks HX’s 130th anniversary.

Participants in the Seattle event are eligible for an exclusive 5 percent discount on new bookings until October 31, 2025. The event was part of HX’s largest-ever Americas Roadshow, which included seven cities across the U.S. and Canada, with the final session scheduled for Orlando on October 22, 2025.
