Culinary Icons Set to Elevate HAL-Holland America’s 2026 Grand Voyages
Holland America Line (HAL) is set to elevate its 2026 Grand Voyages by featuring members of its Culinary Ambassador program on select cruise segments aboard the Volendam and Zaandam ships. Notable culinary figures such as Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Chef Ethan Stowell, Master Tea Blender Steve Schwartz, and Chocolatier Jacques Torres will lead exclusive events and specialty experiences for guests.
The Grand World Voyage is scheduled to depart on January 4, 2026, from Fort Lauderdale on the Volendam, while the Grand Australia & New Zealand Voyage will set sail from San Diego aboard the Zaandam. On March 7, both ships will converge in Sydney, allowing for a joint event called “Chocolate Teatime,” where guests can enjoy Torres’ creations.
Throughout the voyages, guests will engage with the ambassadors through various formats, including live cooking demos, reservation-only dinners, coffee chats, tea tastings, seminars, and high tea events. Morimoto will join the Sydney to Yokohama segment of the Volendam voyage, while Stowell will participate in the Yokohama to San Diego leg, and Schwartz will be featured during the Singapore to Yokohama phase. Torres will be part of the Zaandam itinerary from Sydney to San Diego.
In addition to culinary offerings, the Volendam will provide special programming during its Pacific Coast run from Seattle to San Diego, featuring Holland America executives who will engage with guests about future voyage plans. The voyages will also incorporate themed nights and gala events, enhancing the onboard experience.
