Royal Caribbean Group Launches Innovative Port Partners Program in Seward, Alaska

Royal Caribbean Group (RCG) has launched its inaugural business accelerator within its new "Port Partners" program, choosing Seward, Alaska, as the pilot location. This initiative features a ten-week curriculum aimed at fostering economic development, local engagement, and environmental investment in port towns that RCG’s fleet visits.

Residents of Seward with either budding or established business ideas are encouraged to apply for the program, with applications due by December 15, 2025. Accepted participants will be informed in January 2026, and the program will begin in February. The curriculum will include business formation and growth fundamentals taught by an AVTEC educator, alongside mentorship from experienced local entrepreneurs. The University of Alaska and AVTEC aim to have the course recognized for 3 credits.

The program will culminate in a pitch competition where one participant will receive a $20,000 grant to further their business venture. RCG’s vice president of destination development has stated that this program represents a significant step toward materializing local entrepreneurial aspirations into real-world business opportunities. AVTEC’s director highlighted the importance of merging education, mentorship, and community support to enhance local economic prospects in Seward and throughout Alaska.
