Port San Diego Kicks Off the 2025-2026 Cruise Season with Holland America Line

The Port of San Diego has officially launched its cruise season for 2025-2026 in collaboration with Holland America Line (HAL). This season is set to feature a total of 107 voyages, bringing approximately 389,000 passengers to the region.

Port Commission Chair Danielle Moore highlighted the significance of renewing the partnership with Holland America, emphasizing that each cruise arrival activates the waterfront and supports local jobs, while showcasing the area’s hotels, restaurants, and attractions to visitors.

Dan Rough, vice president of revenue management for Holland America, stated that San Diego is an ideal embarkation point due to its convenience, pleasant climate, and access to popular destinations. He projected that the season’s sailings could inject nearly $56 million into San Diego’s economy, contributing to the tourism sector at large.

The first vessel of the season, Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas, docked in San Diego on September 19. This was followed by the Zaandam embarking on a 51-day South Pacific journey, and the Caribbean Princess arriving on September 29.

The upcoming schedule also includes voyages from Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Viking, Silversea, and more. Notably, this season marks the first time Norwegian Cruise Line has established San Diego as a homeport, with Norwegian Jade making 21 calls.

Looking ahead, port officials anticipate next season could see as many as 190 cruise calls with up to 800,000 passengers, driven by increased services from Royal Caribbean and Disney.

San Diego ranks as California’s third busiest cruise port, positioned just behind Long Beach and Los Angeles. It is particularly valued as the closest West Coast port for cruises to the Mexican Riviera, with two terminal locations at B Street and Broadway Piers providing immediate access to the vibrant downtown waterfront.
