Royal Caribbean Introduces Exciting Features and First Sailings for Legend of the Seas
Royal Caribbean International has announced that its newest ship, Legend of the Seas, will set sail in July 2026, promising to transform the family cruising experience. The vessel will operate in Europe and the Southern Caribbean, featuring innovative design paired with a wide variety of entertainment and dining options.
The ship will be divided into eight unique neighborhoods, each designed to serve as a distinct destination. Dining highlights include two new themed restaurants: Royal Railway – Legend Station, which draws inspiration from the ancient Silk Routes, and the Hollywoodland Supper Club, a nod to the glamour of early 20th-century cinema. A total of 28 dining venues will include popular options like Chops Grille, Izumi, and Hooked Seafood, as well as family-oriented spots like Surfside Eatery and Basecamp.
Entertainment will prominently feature productions like Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, set to debut at sea in the Royal Theater, alongside spectacular aquatic and ice shows at venues like the AquaTheater and Absolute Zero, RCI’s largest ice arena. Guests will have access to more than 20 bars and lounges, such as Dueling Pianos and the 1400 Lobby Bar.
For adventure seekers, Legend of the Seas will boast Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, and Crown’s Edge, a thrilling skywalk and zipline positioned 154 feet over the ocean. The ship’s top deck will include amenities ranging from mini golf and rock climbing to seven pools catering to varying preferences, including an adults-only infinity pool at The Hideaway and family-friendly areas like Splashaway Bay.
During the summer of 2026, the ship will offer 7-night itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, departing from Barcelona and Civitavecchia-Rome, with stops at ports like Marseille, Naples, and Palma de Mallorca. In November 2026, the ship will relocate to Fort Lauderdale, FL for sailings in the Caribbean, offering 6-night Western and 8-night Southern Caribbean routes that will include stops at Aruba, Curacao, and Royal Caribbean’s private island, CocoCay.
Additionally, Legend of the Seas is set to be propelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), marking Royal Caribbean as the company’s fourth LNG-fueled ship, and will include advanced environmental technologies aimed at sustainability, with a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2035.
