Celebrity Edge Kicks Off Exciting Third Season Down Under!

Celebrity Edge has officially begun its third season in Australasian waters, inviting travelers to explore some of the region’s spectacular destinations in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.

After completing a 19-night transpacific crossing from Honolulu, the ship docked in Sydney, NSW, on the morning of October 20, 2025, ready to embark on a series of sailings that will last until April 2026. Over this period, Celebrity Edge will operate 17 voyages, departing from both Sydney and Auckland. These trips range from short 4-night excursions to longer 14-night journeys. The season kicked off with an 11-night voyage to the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage site, setting a tone of exploration and coastal splendor for the season.

Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, shared insight into how Celebrity Edge’s innovative design has redefined expectations within the industry. The ship offers travelers not just luxury, but also enriching cultural and culinary experiences. Its third season in the region highlights Celebrity Cruises’ dedication to immersive exploration in this unique area.

This season promises enhanced access to New Zealand, featuring seven itineraries focused solely on its breathtaking landscapes. Notable among them is a 13-night Holiday Cruise that allows travelers to celebrate the festive season amidst the stunning fjords of Milford, Doubtful, and Dusky Sounds, with stops at seven ports throughout both islands. Another notable itinerary is the 9-night Australia Wine Journey, tracing the eastern and southern coastlines and including visits to renowned vineyards in Hobart, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, and Melbourne. The season will also introduce 54 new shore excursions, including unique experiences in Newcastle, where the ship will make its first call in December. Here, guests can enjoy a coastal sculpture walk paired with a wine tasting and lunch, showcasing local art and flavors.

In Wellington, a new wellness excursion provides guests a chance to relax in rural tranquility. After a brief drive to Mangaroa Farm, participants explore the gardens with local guides, enjoy yoga next to the native bush and streams, and conclude with refreshments featuring homegrown ingredients.

Onboard, Celebrity Edge exemplifies modern maritime luxury with 29 dining and lounge venues, an extensive menu of over 120 spa treatments, and high-caliber theatrical productions. The Magic Carpet, a unique cantilevered platform over the water, offers a stunning venue for dining and relaxation. The ship’s Infinite Veranda staterooms enhance the onboard experience by offering expanded living space and uninterrupted ocean views.

Following Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Solstice will arrive in Sydney the next day, marking the first occurrence of consecutive port days for Celebrity Cruises in the harbor. Solstice is set to return in April 2026 after a significant US$250 million modernization, featuring new venues, refreshed accommodations, and enlarged entertainment spaces. It will rejoin the regional fleet next season with itineraries that highlight New Zealand, Australia’s acclaimed wine regions, and the South Pacific.
