MSC’s luxury cruise brand, Explora Journeys, is set to celebrate the festive season in the Caribbean with a program called “Currents of Connection.” This initiative features voyages on their ships, EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II, designed to emphasize reflection, discovery, and reconnection during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve period. The sailings will vary from seven to seventeen nights.
The theme of “Currents of Connection” symbolizes the ocean currents as metaphors for the connections between distant shores and the passage of time at sea, aiming to create meaningful relationships among guests, destinations, and time itself, all in a unhurried atmosphere.
Onboard festivities will blend traditional holiday celebrations with modern experiences, including gala dinners, wellness sessions centered on gratitude, gingerbread-house crafting, mixology workshops, live music, and open-air film screenings. Guests are encouraged to slow down and engage in both onboard activities and shore explorations.
The Caribbean itineraries are set to visit beautiful and culturally rich ports, such as Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas, known for its picturesque beaches; Terre-de-Haut in Les Saintes, Guadeloupe, a serene village; Bridgetown in Barbados, rich in colonial architecture; Fort-de-France in Martinique; and Basseterre in St. Kitts & Nevis, which offers kayaking and hiking opportunities.
One of the program’s highlights will be a New Year’s Eve sailing, featuring a spectacular fireworks display over San Juan, Puerto Rico, creating a serene celebration atmosphere for guests ringing in the new year.
