GPH Awarded 15-Year Concession for Casablanca Cruise Terminal Enhancement

Global Ports Holding (GPH) has successfully secured a 15-year concession agreement with Morocco’s Agence Nationale des Ports (ANP) to operate the new cruise terminal at Casablanca Cruise Port. GPH, holding a 51% stake in the agreement alongside local partners Steya and Ocean Infrastructures Management, won this through a public bidding process.

Operations at the terminal are set to start in January 2026, following its inauguration by King Mohammed VI on September 18, 2025. The facility includes a 650-meter quay, three boarding bridges, and parking for 44 coaches, adhering to international standards. It will accommodate cruise ships up to 350 meters long and aims to handle over 450,000 passengers annually.

GPH views this concession as an essential part of its strategy to enhance connectivity across the Atlantic and western Mediterranean regions, positioning Casablanca as a key entry point for cruises between Europe and the Caribbean. ANP has invested approximately EUR 72 million into the terminal’s infrastructure. The port recorded around 150,000 transit passengers in 2024 and aims for 180,000 in 2025.

This arrangement signifies a vital milestone for GPH’s growth and Morocco’s commitment to developing its cruise tourism infrastructure, facilitating better access for larger vessels and boosting the country’s maritime tourism profile.
