GPH Achieves 15-Year Concession for Casablanca Cruise Terminal Expansion
Global Ports Holding (GPH) has secured a 15-year concession with Morocco’s Agence Nationale des Ports (ANP) to manage the new cruise terminal at Casablanca Cruise Port. This agreement was reached through a public tender process, where GPH maintains a 51% stake in the consortium, which includes local partners Steya and Ocean Infrastructures Management.
Operations are set to start in January 2026 following the terminal’s inauguration by King Mohammed VI on September 18, 2025. The facility boasts a 650-metre quay, three boarding bridges, and parking for 44 vehicles. It is designed to handle vessels up to 350 metres long and can accommodate over 450,000 passengers annually.
GPH has emphasized that this project will strengthen its presence across the Atlantic and western Mediterranean, connecting key ports such as La Goulette, Las Palmas, and Mindelo. Casablanca is intended to serve as a strategic hub for Europe-Caribbean cruise itineraries.
With an investment of approximately EUR 72 million from ANP in the terminal’s infrastructure, the port recorded around 150,000 transit passengers in 2024 and aims to increase that number to 180,000 in 2025.
This agreement represents a key advancement for both GPH’s expansion goals and Morocco’s strategy to boost its cruise tourism infrastructure, enhancing accessibility for larger vessels and elevating the nation’s profile in maritime tourism.
