Storm Causes Delay for MSC Preziosa’s Scheduled Arrival in Salvador de Bahia
A significant storm off the coast of Bahia has led to the delay of the MSC Preziosa’s docking at the Port of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. The cruise ship was en route on a 20-day transatlantic repositioning voyage from Hamburg to Rio de Janeiro and was slated to dock on Tuesday morning, October 21st. However, adverse weather conditions made the docking maneuvers impossible.
The harbor authority indicated that the storm began on Monday, hindering operations at the port. In response, MSC Cruises has announced that the MSC Preziosa is now anticipated to dock at around 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd, depending on weather conditions. The cruise line is in contact with affected passengers regarding the changes.
After its stop in Salvador, the MSC Preziosa will continue along the Bahian coast, with planned visits to ports such as Ilhéus. MSC Cruises has stated that all itineraries might be modified based on safety and weather-related considerations.
