Scenic Cruises Unveils Scenic Ikon: A Glimpse into the 2028 Superyacht Experience
Scenic Cruises has officially unveiled its latest ultra-luxury expedition superyacht, the Scenic Ikon, which is set to launch in April 2028. This impressive vessel measures 205 meters (672 feet) in length and will accommodate up to 270 guests in 135 staterooms, each featuring private balconies. The staterooms will vary in size, ranging from 34 to 250 square meters (365 to 2,690 square feet).
The Scenic Ikon will be constructed by MKM Yachts in Rijeka, Croatia, and is designed to meet the Polar Code 6 rating with an Ice Class 1A Super strengthened hull, enabling it to navigate both polar and warm-water regions. The ship will be equipped with advanced features, including two Airbus helicopters, a custom Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, and tender craft.
Guests will enjoy a variety of dining options with 15 distinct venues, along with spacious lounges and a two-level wellness facility spanning approximately 1,700 square meters (18,300 square feet).
During its maiden season, the Scenic Ikon will visit 110 ports in 21 countries, including 26 new destinations for the Scenic brand. Delivery of the ship is anticipated for late 2027, allowing for a maiden voyage that will begin in Venice, Italy.
According to the chairman of Scenic Group, the Scenic Ikon has been meticulously designed to provide "unrivalled experiences" across a wide range of global destinations, from the rich cultural locales of the Mediterranean to the stunning landscapes of Antarctica. The introduction of this superyacht aims to elevate the standard of luxury expedition cruising, offering travelers high-end, all-inclusive experiences in both remote and iconic locations.
