MSC Cruises Begins Major Refurbishment of MSC Magnifica: What’s New?
MSC Cruises has launched a significant renovation of MSC Magnifica, the first of its Musica Class ships to undergo a refit as part of a broader fleet enhancement initiative. This major refurbishment is taking place at Palumbo Malta Shipyard, a key facility for the company’s maintenance operations in Europe.
The enhancements will introduce the MSC Yacht Club experience to Magnifica for the first time, featuring 63 luxury suites, exclusive lounges, and dedicated services. Two new specialty restaurants, Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, are also part of the upgrade, along with a fully redesigned MSC Aurea Spa and Technogym® Fitness Center, which will offer updated wellness facilities, outdoor spaces, and a gentlemen’s barber.
Scheduled for completion in December 2025, the Yacht Club experience will be available during the ship’s summer 2026 Northern Europe itineraries. This refurbishment is part of MSC’s ongoing commitment to enhancing guest comfort and options, allowing more ships in the fleet to feature the exclusive Yacht Club service.
Following the upgrades to Magnifica, MSC Poesia is set to undergo similar renovations starting February 2026, which will include 69 new Yacht Club suites and enhancements in dining, spa, and fitness areas. The improvements are anticipated to conclude just before her deployment to Alaska in May 2026.
Upon completion, MSC Magnifica will begin sailing from Warnemünde, Germany, on May 16, 2026, with itineraries across Northern Europe, the Baltics, and Scandinavia. Later, she will shift to Mediterranean routes encompassing key ports like Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and Marseille. The ship is also slated for an MSC World Cruise in early 2027, which highlights the new Yacht Club offerings on a global scale.
Simultaneously, MSC Poesia will offer 7-night cruises from Seattle to Alaska from May to September 2026, transitioning to Miami for Caribbean routes during the winter of 2026-2027. Reservations for Yacht Club accommodations on both MSC Magnifica and MSC Poesia are currently open.
