AmaWaterways Expands Colombian Cruise Fleet with the Addition of AmaMelodia Ship
AmaWaterways has recently launched its second luxury riverboat in Colombia, the AmaMelodia, further expanding its operations on the Magdalena River. This move follows the successful debut of the AmaMagdalena earlier in the same year and highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable tourism and support for local economies.
The introduction of the AmaMelodia is a result of strong partnerships with Colombian stakeholders, aimed at enhancing the cruise infrastructure along the river and providing long-lasting benefits to nearby communities. With a capacity for 64 passengers, the AmaMelodia prioritizes an intimate travel experience, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking views of Colombia’s lush landscapes.
The riverboat will operate 7-day itineraries between the ports of Barranquilla and Cartagena. Onboard, passengers can indulge in regional and international cuisine made using locally sourced ingredients, enjoy live musical performances in the main lounge, and relax on a sun deck equipped with a whirlpool amidst the tropical surroundings.
Reflecting Colombia’s cultural heritage, the ship’s interiors feature handcrafted décor designed by local artisans, enhancing the travel experience by integrating a sense of cultural appreciation with sustainable practices.
