Lindblad Expeditions Announces Exciting Expansion of River Cruises for 2027-2028
Lindblad Expeditions is set to enhance its river cruise offerings for the 2027–2028 season, unveiling an extensive catalogue that covers vital waterways in Europe, Egypt, India, and Vietnam. This new expansion marks Lindblad’s largest river cruise portfolio to date.
In Europe, the vessel Transcend Connect will continue its popular routes through the canals of Amsterdam and the picturesque French countryside during the spring and summer months. Additionally, the new sister ship, Transcend Evolve, will join the fleet in 2027, introducing winter sailings that include special Christmas market voyages, thus extending river cruising beyond its traditional seasonal boundaries.
Lindblad will also charter notable ships like Charaidew II for voyages on the Brahmaputra River in India, The Jahan along the Mekong River in Vietnam, and Oberoi Philae on the Nile in Egypt.
CEO Natalya Leahy emphasized that these river voyages aim to be “unhurried, intimate and deeply connected to place.” In her view, how travelers perceive the world is as essential as the destinations themselves. Each itinerary will feature experienced expedition leaders, regional field staff, and naturalists, which aligns with the brand’s approach to provide a high level of expertise.
By broadening its offerings and fostering deeper cultural engagement, Lindblad aims to transform the river cruising experience from mere sightseeing to immersive travel, utilizing smaller ships and specialized operators to explore lesser-known waterways and communities.
The new river schedule for 2027–2028 signifies a major step forward for Lindblad, reaffirming its commitment to experiential travel and supporting tourism development across all the regions included in its expanded routes.
