Bodrum Cruise Port Wraps Up Record Season with a Commitment to Sustainability
Bodrum Cruise Port, managed by Global Ports Holding, has successfully wrapped up a remarkable cruise season, featuring a record 116 vessel calls and welcoming 138,149 passengers. This achievement highlights its position as a key cruise destination in Türkiye, paired with commendations for its sustainability and community initiatives.
The season was marked by a variety of vessels, including AROYA Cruises, which made several overnight visits, and notable calls from Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady and Marella UK’s Marella Discovery 2. The port also attracted luxury lines such as Ritz-Carlton and Silversea.
One of the key social responsibility initiatives was "One Day. One Ship. One Future," a collaborative program with Marella Cruises. This initiative brought local high school students for a day filled with activities including a port tour, beach clean-up, and a ship visit, all aimed at enhancing marine conservation awareness and fostering interest in maritime careers. The project has earned the port a finalist position for the "Sustainability Project of the Year" at the upcoming Seatrade Cruise Awards.
Aziz Güngör, the East Med Regional Director for Global Ports Holding, noted that the season excelled in both operational success and social contributions, reaffirming the port’s commitment to pursuing projects that benefit the local community and the environment.
